elderberry, elderflower, and everything in between
Although I have read that Japanese beetles have no predators these bugs are seeming to keep the beetle population down on my elderberries. With one or two of these on each elderberry plant the beetles have done much less damage to that plant. Does anybody know what kind of bugs these are?? Sorry about the poor picture quality my camera does not want to take close up pics. The bugs are gray with a bit of red on them, they have 6 legs, a very small praying mantis like head and they will wait on a leaf until a bug alights on the plant, then they move towards the bug and captures it. What kind of bug is this....any ideas anybody???

Assian Bug, very ugly and prehistoric looking, but your friend in the elderberry patch. CC
